Through the globe, 2OO3Born in Bologna in 1972. Lives and works in Bologna, Milan and Bergamo.
His first complete study, Safari metropolitano (Metropolitan safari), which he started working on in 1998, consists of black and white images in fake reportage style through which we can infer that the artist's areas of interest are the most oneiric aspects of the real and meta-linguistic reflection.
In 2002 he started his Through the globe series, an imaginary journey around the world through photographs of the artificial landscapes found inside souvenir glass spheres (snowglobes), which underscored his increasing interest in images that explore the ambiguous relationship between the real and multiple representations of reality. In 2003 he exhibited his works at a two-man exhibition held in the Spazio Aperto of the Bologna Gallery of Modern Art. In 2005 he was invited to participate in the group exhibit Italian camera held at the Island of San Servolo in Venice. His latest study, Big Bang (2009), is a description of the remote worlds evoked by transfiguring everyday household objects within the microcosm of the darkroom without the use of the camera. Since 2006 he has been holding the course on Photographic Direction in the Two-year Postgraduate Photography Degree of the Brera Academy in Milan. Since 2009 he has been teaching Photography at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts in Bergamo.
