![]() Born in Carpi in 1982. Lives and works in Modena. His studies use the photographic tool as a means of investigating the reality, the nuances, the habits and the customs of our times. He seeks to illustrate the developments of a society strongly influenced by the new means of communication. In his Beautiful Agony (2010), he reflects upon the allusive power of photography by isolating details of videos from websites by the same name, highlighting the way in which a simper of pleasure can be mistaken for a grimace of pain. In his series Ascolta i pixel (Listen to the pixels) (2010) the goal he sets himself is to reformulate the classic conception of a portrait, denying what is usually designated as its underpinning, namely the look in the eye of the subject. The subjects of his photos are asked to close their eyes for a few seconds, abandoning themselves to their own thoughts and thus presenting themselves in a more sincere way. He has a degree in Communication Science from the University of Reggio Emilia and is studying for his two-year postgraduate diploma in Photography at the Brera Academy in Milan.
