Born in Reggio Emilia in 1979 . Lives and works in Modena. He works with video and computer graphics. In his modus operandi the infinite combination possibilities of the synthetic image become a tool for investigating existing reality while drawing in art history, cinema and photography in the development of his work. In just over two minutes, his videos show minimal, cyclically re-presented, scenes where the absence or discrete presence of sound shifts the focus on the almost hypnotic shape of the subject. In 2002 he produced 3000 esposizioni ultrarapide (3000 ultra-rapid exposures) in which he presented a different, mathematical and distilled vision of one of the most typical landscapes of Emilia Romagna, an area familiar to the artist but which might appear alien to a foreign eye. His poetics is well summarized by the following quote from Jean Epstein: «We haven't seen the Earth, nor anything of it, if we've seen it without letting go of its movement. We need to move more quickly and more like it; letting that bell tower flee, reaching it, moving it, putting it back among the hills opening out, in the merry-go-round of the poplars playing prisoner's base»*. Working with computer graphics indeed means having total control over reality, modelling objects, adding colour and changing the perspective.
